Kicking off 2024
On January 10th, 2024, the Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD) at TU Berlin invited partners and friends to its New Year's reception: An inspiring kickoff for a year full of scientific challenges in AI, Machine Learning and Data Management. It was amazing to see how much BIFOLD has already grown and achieved since its inception.
The reception was attended by notable guests, including the State Secretary for Science and Research for the Berlin Senate, Dr. Henry Marx, TU Berlin President Prof. Dr. Geraldine Rauch together with three of her colleagues from the Executive Board of TU Berlin, Prof. Dr. -Ing.habil. Stephan Völker, Christian Schröder and Lars Oeverdieck as well as Prof. Dr. Volkmar Falk, Medical Director Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and representative of BIFOLDs institutional partner Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. The event was kicked off with a speech by BIFOLD Co-Director Prof. Dr. Volker Markl, followed by greetings from Prof. Dr. med. Volkmar Falk and BIFOLD-Fellow Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wiegand (Executive Director of the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute).

The evening was a great start to the year 2024.
