AI and Responsibility

On the occasion of the 80th birthday of the former President of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Günter Stock (2006 - 2015), the academy organizes a celebratory event titled 'AI and Responsibility.'
One of the pressing questions that persists even after recent regulations at the European Union level is precisely who bears what kind of responsibility in the applications of AI. In honor of Günter Stock, members of the academy and guests will discuss these and other questions during the festive evening event.

The event will begin with an introduction by Christoph Markschies, the Academy President, followed by a keynote speech on the regulation and liability of artificial intelligence by Gerhard Wagner (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Chair of Civil Law, Business Law and Economics). The evening will be complemented by a panel discussion on the current state of the debate surrounding the use of AI. Invited panelists are: Eva Buddenberg (Bergische Universität Wuppertal), Volker Markl (Technische Universität Berlin, Co-Director BIFOLD), Fruzsina Molnár-Gábor (Universität Heidelberg), Klaus-Robert Müller (Technische Universität Berlin, Co-Director BIFOLD) and Christoph Markschies (President of the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften).

The musical program of the evening will be performed by Clarissa Bevilacqua on violin and Michael Cohen-Weissert on piano.

The event is held in German and open to the public. Registration: www.bbaw.de/veranstaltungen/veranstaltung-ki-und-verantwortung
