Towards a Fully Integrated Smart Textile Patch-Based Cap for Multi-Distance CW FNIRS Whole-Head Imaging

We present a modular fabric patch-based approach of a wearable, compact, lightweight, full-head fNIRS system using Smart Textiles with integrated multi-distance optodes. Signal quality and comfort were compared to traditional cap equipment on nine subjects, yielding comparable comfort and performance. A new integrated short channel solution was conceptually proven and shows promising potential. Cap setup and application time was greatly reduced.
