Dr. Alexander Borusan
Dr. Alexander Borusan is a senior scientist of the Database Systems and Information Management (DIMA) group at the Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin). Prior to his work in Berlin, he worked at the Kiev Polytechnical Institute (National Technical University of Ukraine) and as a visiting professor in the department of computer science at the University of Hamburg. Alexander is a graduate of the Kiev Polytechnical Institute (National Technical University of the Ukraine) where he earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering and Automation. He completed his PhD at the Kiev Polytechnical Institute (National Technical University of the Ukraine).
Alexander worked in various national and international research projects and in projects on behalf of industry in the Ukraine, USA, France, Hamburg and Berlin. He was project leader in “DFG-Forschergruppe Petrnetz-Technologie”, and project coordinator of EU project DOPA. Alexander is currently project coordinator of BIFOLD. In addition to his activities at the university, Alexander was chair of the department, chair of the Berlin Branch at the Fraunhofer ISST, and is currently a research coordinator for System Quality Center at the Fraunhofer-Institute FOKUS.
Alexander has presented over 60 invited talks in numerous industrial settings and at major conferences and research institutions worldwide. He has authored and published 3 books and more than 40 research papers at world-class scientific venues.
